April 14, 2023, Gloria Aguilar, earned her wings and joined the angels in Heaven.

Gloria was a blessing when she was born to Ruperto and Carmen Aguilar, on September 11, 1949, in San Antonio, TX, where she lived her whole life. Gloria graduated from G. W. Brackenrid­ge High School in 1968. She worked for Joske’s Dept Store as a sales clerk, Fort Sam Houston Hospital as a clerk typist, and found her dream job at USAA, where she started in a typing pool and ended in the Policy Services, retiring after 30 years.

Gloria had a love of family, she loved all the little children, but most

of all her nieces and nephews stole her heart. Her greatest gift was her sense of nurturing and compassion, she cared for all of her elderly aunts, for all those who were ill and for those who had lost a loved one, she would cry with and for them. She had a contagious laugh, loved to dance, and would be uncontroll­ably excited when she saw a celebrity movie star or singer. Gloria loved to travel anytime she could.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Ruperto and Carmen (nee Pompa) Aguilar, and her younger brother Ricardo Aguilar. She is survived by her oldest brother Antonio (Julia) Aguilar and younger sister, Christine (Samuel) Dickens, seven nieces and nephews, six grand nieces and nephews, three great-grand nieces and nephews Gloria’s abundance of love and presence on this earth made a big difference and she will be missed by her family, friends and so many others.

Visitation will be at Mission Park Funeral Chapel 3401 Cherry Ridge Dr., San Antonio, TX, 78230, April 26, 2023 5:00-9:00 p.m.; Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Church Services April 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2, 746 Castrovill­e Road.
