13th Floor Haunted House
Check out The Deadlands, a post-apocalyptic world of “menacing mutants” that came after a virulent virus attacked humanity. Or head to The Rot Shop, a labyrinth that is home to the “most wicked and bloodthirsty prisoners” who survived experiments performed by the Hades Corp. 13th Floor also offers food trucks and — for those at least 21 years old — two bars, the Bar 13 and Copper
Tavern. Ticket costs vary by the day, but starting prices range from $19.99 to $29.99. Want to skip the line? You can — but you’ll pay more. Advanced tickets can be bought online.
Open Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 11, along with several
other nights. Times vary but range from 6 to 11 p.m. 1203 E. Commerce St.
Haunted Dollhouse
Put on by the Retro Fun Store & Museum, this is a “creepy-cute doll museum and curiosity shop inside a charming old haunted house,” according to its Facebook page. The old home is filled with hundreds of “creepy dolls, figures and other artifacts.” Tickets for one-hour sessions are $7 to $16 and can be bought online.
Open Fridays-sundays through Oct. 29, with sessions starting at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. 619 W. Hildebrand Ave., 210-900-9122

Spooktacular is a less spooky alternative for families that features Halloween shows, a maze and trick-or-treating. Single-day passes start at $49.99 online.
Both operating through Oct. 29; Howl-o-scream open 10:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Fridays-sundays; Spooktacular open 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursdays-sundays. 10500 Seaworld Drive, 210-520-4732
