OTHER STATE GAMES

-

A look at Saturday’s other Power Five games involving Texas schools:

BAYLOR (1-3, 0-1 BIG 12) AT UCF (3-1, 0-1)

When: 2:30 p.m. TV: FS1 What's at stake: Baylor took out advertisements on billboards along highways in Orlando and Central Florida welcoming UCF to the Big 12. UCF is seeking its first Big 12 win and doing so in front of a sold-out crowd celebrating the moment for the Knights. The Bears have lost three games this season with an 11-point loss to Texas State in the opener and a seven-point loss to No. 10 Utah. Baylor has struggled to find offensive consistency and a young defense has struggled.

Players to watch: Baylor — WR Monaray Baldwin. He had a solid game against Texas, using his speed to get some open space and find some room to run. He tallied three catches for 81 yards, including a 55-yard reception. He has five catches for 158 yards so far this season. Baldwin can be a big-play weapon for the Bears but he and the Baylor offense are seeking more consistency. UCF —WR Kobe Hudson. One of the bright spots for UCF in its loss to Kansas State was the continued emergence of Hudson. He recorded five catches for 138 yards and tow touchdowns last week. He has a team-high 20 catches for 463 yards so far this season.

WEST VIRGINIA (3-1, 1-0 BIG 12) AT TCU (3-1, 1-0)

When: 7 p.m. TV: ESPN2 What's at stake: TCU hasn’t lost a Big 12 regular-season game under coach Sonny Dykes, who is in his second season. The winning streak reached 10 with a victory at Houston two weeks ago. West Virginia is going for its first 2-0 conference start since 2018 following a 20-13 victory over Texas Tech at home.

UH (2-2, 0-1 BIG 12) AT TECH (1-3, 0-2)

When: 2:30 p.m. TV: FS2 What's at stake: Texas Tech is going for its longest winning streak in the Houston series at six games in the first Big 12 meeting of the former Southwest Conference foes. Behren Morton is set to start at quarterback for the Red Raiders after Tyler Shough sustained a broken leg in last week’s 20-13 loss at West Virginia. It’s the third consecutive season Shough has had a long-term injury. Former Texas Tech quarterback Donovan Smith is set to start for the Cougars.
