Christus Health’s San Antonio hospitals have new leadership.

The health system said Wednesday a former Denver hospital executive has taken over its Santa Rosa Health System after the departure of CEO Stephanie Parker.

New CEO Grant Wicklund now oversees the five Santa Rosa hospitals: Westover Hills, Alamo Heights, Medical Center, New Braunfels and San Marcos. He most recently was CEO of Colorado’s Lutheran Medical Center.

“I am honored for the opportunity to come to San Antonio, a city and community with outstanding health care resources,” Wicklund said in a statement. “I feel humbled and grateful to Christus Santa Rosa Health System and Christus Health for entrusting me to lead this exceptional team. This ministry already has a strong foundation and I hope to build on that.”

Parker took over as CEO in 2020 after five years as a regional vice president of finance. In its announcement, Christus thanked Parker for her work leading the area’s hospitals through the pandemic.

“Stephanie’s commitment to our ministry has always been at the forefront of her leadership focus,” Christus CEO Jeff Puckett said in a statement. “We are incredibly blessed to have worked with her. With that same level of commitment, Christus Santa Rosa Health System is focused on making excellent, integrated, and consumer-focused care more accessible, reliable, and personal for all those we serve.”

Wicklund is a graduate of the University of Memphis. His résumé lists more than 25 years of experience leading and consulting both for-profit and nonprofit hospitals navigating business development, logistics, productivity, cost reductions and labor strategies.

“I am confident in Grant’s ability to lead our Santa Rosa ministry so we can continue to provide the high-quality, compassionate care expected from the communities we are blessed to serve,” Puckett said.
