UTSA women squander late lead in loss

-

UTSA built a doubledigit lead in the fourth quarter but collapsed on offense down the stretch, allowing Tulsa to rally for a 74-70 win on Wednesday at the Reynolds Center in Tulsa.

After holding a tight lead for most of the third quarter, the Roadrunners used an 11-0 spurt to build a 13-point margin with seven minutes to play in the game. But the Roadrunners (12-11, 6-6 American Athletic Conference) scored just four points the rest of the way, hitting 1 of 11 shots with five turnovers as Tulsa (18-7, 8-4) closed the game on a 21-4 run.

Five UTSA players scored in double figures, marking the first time five or more Roadrunners cracked 10 points in the same game since Feb. 2, 2023.

Sidney Love led the way with 16, while Kyra White netted 15. Jordyn Jenkins and Idara Udo each notched 11, and Aysia Proctor chipped in 10.

UTSA shot 40% overall and 25% from 3-point

range, but Tulsa hit 50% overall and 36% from beyond the arc, overcoming a 38-30 rebounding advantage for the Roadrunners.
