Here’s a look at this weekend’s arts and entertainm­ent highlights:

TODAY

Black Violin: Violist Wilner “Wil B” Baptiste and violinist Kevin “Kev Marcus” Sylvester, aka Black Violin, are returning to the Alamo City. The duo, which combines classical and hip-hop music, were nominated recently for a Grammy for Best Americana Performanc­e for a collaborat­ion with the Blind Boys of Alabama. 8 p.m. today, The Espee, 1174 E. Black Pumas: Austin’s Grammy-nominated psychedeli­c soul band is one of the highlights of the opening lineup of shows at the new Stable Hall. Eric Burton and Adrian Quesada released their second album, “Chronicles of a Diamond,” in October. 7 p.m. today and Saturday, Stable Hall, 307 Pearl Parkway. Both shows sold out, stablehall.com.

Cody Canada and the Departed: This trio fronted by Red Dirt star Canada plays its own hard-rocking hits, as well as songs by Canada’s previous band, Cross Canadian Ragweed. The band’s latest album was a remake of CCR’S “Soul Gravy.” Doors 7 p.m. today, Floore’s Country Store, 14492 Old Bandera Road, Helotes. $18, liveatfloo­res.com.

“#Cinderella”: Playwright Jessica Roberts updates the fairy tale with a central character who keeps her life as a Tiktok star a secret from her greedy stepmother and stepsister­s. Opens today. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through March 9, with a matinee at 3 p.m. March 3 and a pay-what-you-will show at 8 p.m. Thursday, Overtime Theater, 5409 Bandera, Suite 205. $12-$18, theovertim­e theater.org.

“Agamemnon”: Trinity University’s staging of the Greek tragedy is based on a new translatio­n by

professor Thomas Jenkins, who teaches classics at the university. The play’s chorus will surround the audience, and so seating will be limited to 100 people per performanc­e. “The Age of Armor: Treasures from the Higgins Armory Collection at the Worcester Art Museum”: This exhibit is a deep dive into suits of armor. Though usually associated with Medieval Europe, there are examples here from the Renaissanc­e and Japan. Opens today. Through May 12, San Antonio Museum of Art, 200 W. Beartooth: Midwestern rock band Beartooth is on the road with a new album, “The Surface.” The Plot in You and Invent Animate open. 6:30 p.m.

“Mission: Astronaut”: The Doseum’s new hands-on exhibit gives youngsters a sense of how astronauts train, and what their lives and work in space are like. Opens Saturday. Through April 28, The Doseum, 2800 Broadway. $18; free for children younger than 1, thedoseum.org.

Lakecia Benjamin:

Grammy-nominated jazz saxophonis­t Benjamin blends R&B, jazz and funk to create her distinctiv­e sound. 8 p.m. Saturday, Jo Long Theatre, Carver

Samantha Fish: Fish, a blues guitarist and singer from Kansas City, collaborat­ed with Austin guitarist Jesse Dayton on the dark and stormy 2023 album “Death Wish Blues.” Now, like a couple of outlaws on the run, they’ve hit the road. 7 p.m. Sunday, The Espee, 1174 E. Book launch: Musician, educator and activist Juan Tejeda will be signing copies of his new book, “Mi Carnal Frank,” at a book launch featuring conjunto music by Flavio Longoria and Armando Tejeda, and refreshmen­ts. The book is a family memoir and biography of Tejeda’s

brother, Frank Tejeda Jr., a Vietnam veteran, lawyer and politician who served in the U.S. House of Representa­tives from 1993 until his death in 1997 at age 51. Juan Tejeda calls him “a San Antonio hero and Mexican American role model.” 2-5 p.m. Sunday, B&N Events Center, 3705 Roosevelt Ave. Free.

“Terremoto!” The Austin Baroque Orchestra performanc­e explores the earthquake that struck just off the coast of Iberia and Morocco on All Saints Day in 1755. The program includes works inspired by Voltaire’s “Candide” and Telemann’s “Donner-ode,” as well as readings from accounts of what happened. 3 p.m. Sunday, St. John’s Lutheran Church, 502 E.
