Early voting continues; cast a ballot
Early voting in the Democratic and Republican primary elections will continue in Texas through Friday. Election Day is March 5. Throughout this period we will periodically offer the Express-news Editorial Board’s recommendations. We hope they inspire — or remind — readers to cast their ballots.
To prepare these recommendations, we interviewed candidates, conducted background research, spoke with sources and evaluated their résumés. We only make recommendations in contested primaries. There are occasions when we cannot recommend a candidate because of their policy positions or backgrounds.
The Express-news Editorial Board comprises Josh Brodesky, editorial page editor; Nancy M. Preyor-johnson, deputy editorial page editor; and
Cary Clack and Gilbert
Garcia, editorial writers and columnists. We are independent, nonpartisan and separate from the Expressnews newsroom. The Editorial Board reports to publisher Mark Medici.
We hope these recommendations are useful to readers, and we encourage voters to conduct their own research into candidates. The Expressnews offers a voter’s guide, which can be found on expressnews.com. The League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area’s guide can be found online at vote411.org.
