About four months ago, Tenet also announced it would sell three South Carolina hospitals for $2.4 billion in cash. Tenet expects to receive after-tax proceeds of around $1.75 billion as part of the sale, which was completed earlier this year.

The company reported net operating revenues of more than $20.5 billion in 2023, up about 7% from 2022, according to financial filings.
