Bruno Yelencovic­h, 74, of Boerne passed away on February 28, 2024 following a sudden illness. A visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Holt & Holt Funeral Home in Boerne, Texas, 319 E San Antonio Ave, with a recitation of the Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Boerne, 202 W Kronkosky St, with committal to follow at the Boerne Cemetery. A Celebratio­n of Life reception will take place at Upon This Rock, 416 W Highland Drive, Boerne following the committal.

Bruno was born on September 23, 1949 in Zadar, Croatia to Cristoforo and Nevenca Jelencovic­h. Bruno was raised in postwar Croatia and Italy. When Bruno was 6, his family moved to Vigevano, Italy. Bruno learned the value of hard work by watching his father work long hours as a carpenter. Bruno started helping his father paint houses at the age of 12. Bruno began his shoe

designing career as an apprentice in Italy with the famed designer Borsani. When he was 17, Bruno’s family immigrated to America to begin a new life in New York City.

Once in New York, he continued his shoe career with Andrew Geller, Giulianell­i and Ferragamo, all before the age of 20. Bruno was passionate about his career. His career took him around the country and back to Italy and around the world, before settling down in San Antonio, becoming the head designer of shoes at San Antonio Shoes (SAS) from 19792015. He met the love of his life, Sara, in 1979 and the two remained nearly inseparabl­e for the rest of his life.

Bruno always put his family first. Bruno and his brother Dario were not only siblings, but best friends. Their brotherly love was unwavering and they spoke every day. Later in life, they both took care of their elderly parents. Bruno was always generous with his time and affection for his

entire family. Bruno had charisma, charm, and a great sense of style. He made people smile daily.

Throughout his long career at SAS, Bruno’s hard work and outgoing personalit­y earned him the respect and love of many friends and coworkers.

Bruno had the ability to make friends with nearly everyone, and if you were lucky enough to be close friends with Bruno, he loved you like family.

He is survived by his wife Sara Atkins, his daughter Michelle Reims, his grandchild­ren MJ, Mila and his son-in-law Michael, his stepsons Rick, and Eric, his grandchild­ren Devon and Dylan, his brother Dario Jelencovic­h and sister-in-law, Linda, his nieces Regina, Lauren, and Kellie, his brother Maurice Jelencovic­h and his sister-in-law Maria and his nephew Christophe­r, and niece Nives, his Aunt Maria Linic, his cousins Maristella J Kelsey and Daniela Bajlo, close friends Ken and Judy Flint and Ted and Liz Pietraszki­ewic,

He was preceded in death by his father Cristoforo and mother Nevenca Jelencovic­h.
