Weekend events
Spring is officially here, and the arts are in bloom in San Antonio, with enough music, dance and exhibits this weekend to fill any enthusiast's calendar. Here's a look at the highlights.
TODAY
Juanes: Colombian rocker Juanes' current tour is named for his 2023 album “Vida Cotidiana,” which featured members of his touring band. Kathleen Madigan: With decades of experience behind her, Madigan is the most popular and accomplished touring comedians in the U.S., regaling audiences with tales inspired by the antics of her Midwestern family. “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”:
The Harlequin is producing this musical, which follows a day in the life of Charlie Brown and his “Peanuts” pals. “Good Diner”: The Overtime Theater presents Oded Gross' drama about a man who wakes up naked in a field, unable to remember anything, and falls in love with the woman who finds him. Later, the couple go to dinner and meet a woman who brings back memories of his past, changing their lives. On and Off Fred: Bihl Haus Arts' annual artist studio tour of spaces on and near Fredericksburg Road starts with a kickoff party at 7 p.m. today at the nonprofit's home, 2803 Fredericksburg Road. The evening includes food, live music and some of the participating artists. Self-guided tours: 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m.

“Fruits of Our Labor”: This is the first exhibition at Ornamental Cabbage, a new space focusing on contemporary ceramics. The group show — featuring works by gallery owner Dani Becknell, as well as Callie Luhrman, Barbara Minarro, Daniela Oliver de Portillo, Jordan Skruhak and others — celebrates the history of ceramic artistry. “Night of Artists”: The Briscoe Western Art Museum's annual juried exhibition, which is the main fundraiser for the museum, features nearly 300 works of art by 86 contemporary Western artists from across the country. Today's events include an exhibition preview, dinner and auction; Saturday, there will be an opening, reception and sale. The show will open to the public Sunday. Gloria Trevi: Pop star Trevi, who returns to San Antonio on her “Mi Soundtrack” tour, has been called the Mexican Madonna, both because of her provocative performances onstage and her, at times, notorious behavior offstage. Monarch Fest: The San Antonio Zoo's ninth annual celebration of monarch butterflies includes seed giveaways, educational activities and games, and a cowboy dance

Black Flag: The pioneering L.A. punk band Black Flag is playing its 19894 album “My War” in full on its current tour. Guitarist Greg Ginn, a founding member, is still playing in the band. “The World of Irreversible Change”:
Digital artwork created by the Lab collective will be shown alongside a 17th-century Japanese screen to explore such concepts as digital vs. analog and collective creativity. Opens Saturday. San Antonio Folklife and Dance Festival:

Don Omar: Puerto Rican superstar Don Omar celebrates a quarter-century in the music business on his “Back to Reggaeton” tour. Marlon Wayans: Wayans is more than a comedian — he acts, writes, directs and produces — but he makes it a point to keep stand-up in the mix.
