Jimmie Allen Zamzow
Jimmie Allen Zamzow (81) passed peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 while surrounded by loved ones. Jimmie, fondly known as “Popo”, was born to Edna and Henry Zamzow on October 17, 1942 in Karnes County, Texas.
After completing high school Jimmie graduated from Durham’s Radiotelevision Electronics College before joining the United States Army. During his time in the military he received multiple medals for various accomplishments before being honorably discharged. Jimmie worked

as an electronics technician for over 40 years before he retired from that profession. Realizing that he wasn’t quite ready for retirement he worked as a driver for Hertz part time, before fully retiring a few years later.
Jimmie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rose Mary, their 4 children James (Daniel), Julia (Dustin), Justin and Jeanne, as well as, seven grandchildren Taylor, Maci, Audie, Alyssa, Lukaus , Nathan and Mckinley. He is also survived by his younger sister, Nancy Slaughter, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He
was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Visitation to take place at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Rd, Universal City, TX 78148 on Tuesday, March 26 from 5-8pm with Rosary at 6:30pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 27 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 2829 Ackerman Rd, San Antonio, TX 78219 at 10am; followed by graveside services at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266
