ESCONDIDO

The Escondido City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in council chambers, 201 N. Broadway, when the council will hold a hearing and discuss an amendment to city code where smoking is allowed in the city. Outdoor dining areas and other public spaces could be added to the city’s regulation­s. The council will also give final approval to a change in city code that would allow small wireless facilities (5G) in the public right of way. The council will review potential amendments to city code that would lower maximum personal campaign contributi­ons from $4,300 for city council and mayoral candidates. The council will hear an overview of the redistrict­ing process that will take place after the 2020 Census.

OCEANSIDE

The Oceanside City Council is scheduled to meet in closed session at 3:30 p.m. March 11 in council chambers, 300 N. Coast Highway, and in regular session at 5 p.m.

The Poway City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers, 13325 Civic Center Drive, when it will hold a public hearing and then vote on the new water, recycled water and wastewater rates.

SAN MARCOS

The city of San Marcos is holding several “Visioning Workshops” to get community input as it begins its General Plan update. The General Plan is the guiding document for achieving the community’s vision. It addresses community topics such as land use, housing, economic developmen­t, transporta­tion, parks and recreation, community health, public safety and environmen­tal justice. These workshops are scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.: “Values, Vision and Opportunit­ies,” March 11 at the San Marcos Senior Activity Center, 111 Richmar Ave.; “Land Use and Housing,” March 25 at the San Marcos Community Center, 3 Civic Center Drive; and “Circulatio­n and Mobility,” April 9 at the San Elijo Recreation Center, 1105 Elfin Forest Road. SOLANA BEACH

The Solana Beach City Council will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. March 11 in council chambers, 635 S. Highway 101, and in regular session at 6 p.m.

The city will hold a 2021-2029 Housing Element Update Community Workshop at 6 p.m. Thursday in City Hall Council Chambers, 635 S. Highway 101. The community is invited to join city staff to learn about the Housing Element, the state’s requiremen­ts of the update process, and the schedule for public input. Call (858) 720-2434.

VISTA

The Vista City Council will hold a special workshop meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday to discuss its 2020-22 goals.

SCHOOL DISTRICTS CARDIFF

The Cardiff School District board will meet in closed session to discuss litigation and personnel at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Cardiff Elementary School library, 1888 Montgomery Ave.

FALLBROOK

The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District board will meet in closed session to discuss student discipline and personnel at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Room 106 of the district office, 321 N. Iowa St. In regular session at 6 p.m., the board will approve the notice of completion for the San Onofre New School Reconstruc­tion Project. Another closed session is scheduled afterward to discuss litigation.

SAN MARCOS

The San Marcos Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the North County Regional Education Center, 255 Pico Ave., and in regular session at 6:30 p.m.

VALLEY CENTER-PAUMA

The Valley Center-pauma Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Valley Center High School media center, 31322 Cole Grade Road, and in regular session at 6 p.m.

VISTA

The Vista Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Morris Vance Community Room, 200 Civic Center Drive, and in regular session at 6 p.m.
