CITY COUNCILS

CARLSBAD

The Carlsbad City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive, when it will hear a presentation on the city’s preparations to deal with a possible public health emergency.

DEL MAR

The Del Mar City Council will meet in closed session at 3:30 p.m. Monday in council chambers, 1050 Camino del Mar. In regular session at 4:30 p.m., the council will hear a presentation on the 2020 census. A hearing on drone regulations will be continued to the March 23 meeting. The council will consider a resolution requesting that the 22nd District Agricultural Association prohibit the sale of unregulated firearm parts, components and/or gun build kits at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The 22nd District Agricultural Association is polling people on their experiences at the Del Mar Fairgrounds as it prepares a strategic plan for the property. ESCONDIDO

The Escondido City Council is scheduled to meet from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in council chambers, 201 N. Broadway, to interview candidates for boards and commissions.

OCEANSIDE

The Oceanside City Council will meet in closed session to discuss labor negotiations at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in council chambers, 300 N. Coast Highway. In regular session at 5 p.m., the council will hold a public hearing on permits and zone changes for the Sandpiper Villa project, a 94-bed assisted living facility for the elderly at Dixie and Grace streets. The council will also discuss developing a police staffing metric to be applied to new development.

SAN MARCOS

The city of San Marcos is holding several “Visioning Workshops” to get community input as it begins its General Plan update. The General Plan addresses community topics such as land use, housing, economic development, transportation, parks and recreation, community health, public safety and environmental justice. The first workshop, “Values, Vision and Opportunities,” is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the San Marcos Senior Activity Center, 111 Richmar Ave. Visit sanmarcos.generalplan.org.

The Solana Beach City Council will meet in closed session to discuss litigation at 5 p.m. Wednesday in council chambers, 635 S. Highway 101. In regular session at 6 p.m., the council will hold a hearing on proposed improvements to the campus of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of San Dieguito, 1036 Solana Drive. An update is scheduled on the Santa Helena Neighborhood Trail Project. The council will also consider a resolution prioritizing buying alternative fuel vehicles that adhere to California fuel-efficiency standards.

VISTA

The Vista City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers, 200 Civic Center Drive, when it will discuss its strategic plan to combat homelessness, and review its fiscal 2019-20 second-quarter financial report.

SCHOOL DISTRICTS

BONSALL

The Bonsall Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Bonsall Community Center, 31505 Old River Road. Regular session starts at 6 p.m.

CARDIFF

The Cardiff School District board is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Ada Harris School library, 1508

Windsor Road.

CARLSBAD

The Carlsbad Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the district office, 6225 El Camino Real. In regular session at 6 p.m., the board will hear presentations on the construction phasing plans for Hope Elementary and Kelly Elementary; and will review its second interim financial report.

ENCINITAS

The Encinitas Union School District board will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday for site visitations of Park Dale Lane Elementary School and at 10 a.m. at Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary School. Another site visit will take place at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Paul Ecke Central Elementary School.

ESCONDIDO

The Escondido Union School District board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Carilyn Gilbert Education Center, 2310 Aldergrove Ave. The Escondido Union High School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the district office, 302 N. Midway Drive, and in regular session at 7 p.m.

FALLBROOK

The Fallbrook Union High School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 5:15 p.m. Monday in the Fallbrook High School library, 2400 S. Stage Coach Lane, and in regular session at 6:30 p.m.

OCEANSIDE

The Oceanside Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session to discuss litigation and labor negotiations at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Chavez Middle School, 202 Oleander Drive. In regular session at 6 p.m., the board will review its second interim financial report, which identifies a $6 million reduction in expenses needed for 2021-22. The board will also review the initial contract proposal from the Oceanside Teachers Association.

POWAY

The Poway Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 4 p.m. Thursday at the district office, 15250 Avenue of Science, San Diego, and in regular session at 6 p.m.

RAMONA

The Ramona Unified School District board will meet in closed session to discuss litigation, labor negotiations and student discipline at 6 p.m. Thursday at the district office, 720 Ninth St. In regular session at 7 p.m., the board will review its Local Control Accountability Plan survey overview.

SAN PASQUAL

The San Pasqual Union School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session to discuss personnel at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Trussell Hall, 15305 Rockwood Road, Escondido. In regular session at 5:45 p.m., the board will consider a transition to full-day kindergarten instruction. The board will also review its second interim financial report, and hear an update on the Local Control and Accountability Plan.

SOLANA BEACH

The Solana Beach School District board will meet in closed session to discuss litigation and labor negotiations at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at Skyline School, 606 Lomas Santa Fe. In regular session at 6:30 p.m., the board will hold a hearing on the 2020-21 bargaining proposal with the Solana Beach Association of Support Professionals. The board will also introduce a resolution for becoming a Zero Waste and Clean Energy Efficient School District. Recommendations on interim housing for Solana Vista School students for the 2020-21 school year will be considered.

VALLECITOS/RAINBOW

The Vallecitos School District board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the district office, 5211 Fifth St., Rainbow, for a summer school update. The second interim financial report will be reviewed. A closed session will follow to discuss litigation.
