A partial list of where seniors can pick up meals or have them delivered: Serving Seniors has temporarily closed all 15 of its congregate dining sites in San Diego County and has moved to delivering meals. To support the homeless seniors who visit the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center — the organization’s flagship dining site at 1525 Fourth Ave. in downtown San Diego — Serving Seniors is offering packaged to-go meals and transitioning clients to meal delivery. To-go meals will also be available at its other sites until all clients can fully transition to meal delivery. Free meals from Serving Seniors are available to anyone 60 and older, regardless of income. If you are a senior in need, or know of one, you can sign up to receive meals by calling (619) 235-6572 and selecting Option One, or reaching out via email at meals@servingseniors.org. Recipients have the option of donating for the meals, but nobody is turned away if they don’t have the means to do so. Visit servingseniors.org. The organization’s CEO, Paul Downey, will also be doing daily Facebook Live updates on its Facebook page at 2:30 p.m. for anyone who wants to tune in: facebook.com/servingseniorssd.

Seniors are encouraged to do a drive-by pickup if they can, driving without passengers to avoid potential COVID-19 spread. The city can deliver meals to those who can’t pick them up.
