CITY COUNCILS
CARLSBAD
The Carlsbad City Council will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday for a hearing on plans to build a four-story mixed-use project with 83 condominium units (74 residential, four commercial) at 2747, 2775, 2777, 2785 and 2801 Roosevelt Street and 2780 and 2802 State Street in the Village Center District. The council will also give final approval to an ordinance prohibiting parking between midnight and 6 a.m. on both sides of Paseo Del Norte and Car Country Drive from Cannon Road to the intersection of Paseo Del Norte and Car Country Drive.
DEL MAR
Del Mar is seeking volunteers to serve on the city’s Finance Committee. There are two vacancies. For details, visit https://www.delmar.ca.us/347/ Committee-vacancies. Application deadline is 4:30 p.m. Oct. 23.
The Encinitas City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Encinitas is seeking community input on possible uses of the city-owned Pacific View property as a cultural arts center. The property, at 608 Third St., was formerly an elementary school and is now zoned for public or semi-public use. The city has worked with a nonprofit for the past few years to improve the property and raise funds for the improvements. The survey is available until Oct. 30 at www.surveymonkey.com/r/pacificview.
SAN MARCOS
The San Marcos City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, when it will consider appeals against construction of a seven-story, 206-bed Kaiser Permanente hospital.
SOLANA BEACH
The Solana Beach City Council will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Wednesday to discuss litigation. In regular session at 6 p.m., the council will discuss design options for improvements to the Marine Safety Center; and will discuss the Rental Assistance Program and other uses of available Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus funding. The council will also consider a resolution authorizing the purchase of “Fleur de Lumiere” as a permanent piece in the city’s art collection for $10,000, paid from the Public Arts Reserve in the TOT Coastal Visitors Fund.
VISTA
The Vista City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the possibility of the city offering a Silent Second Loan Program to help property owners who need to repair or replace their private storm drain pipes, and who otherwise do not have the money to fund the repairs/ replacement.
Vista is asking for public input as it updates its Housing Element. Taking the Housing Element online survey will help the city develop a plan that best reflects the community’s housing needs, values and priorities. BONSALL
The Bonsall Unified School District board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
CARLSBAD
The Carlsbad Unified School District board will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Wednesday and in regular session at 6 p.m., when it will hold a public hearing on the provisions of the Audeo II Charter School petition. The board will also hear a technology update, including a progress report on the installation of new technology on campuses undergoing renovations, as well as the latest proposal to add outdoor Wi-fi to all schools. ENCINITAS
The Encinitas Union School District will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday to hear updates on the EUSD Kitchen proposals and on refunding the current bond program. The board will also consider Covid-19-related adjustments to the contracts with the Teachers of Encinitas and Classified of Encinitas.
FALLBROOK
The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District board will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. Monday to interview candidates Joann Lopez and Karen Arter to fill an open seat. The board will then choose a candidate to serve until the next regular district election (November 2022). At that time, the seat will become a Trustee Area 1 seat, and will be voted on as a new four-year term. The Fallbrook Union High School District board will meet in closed session to discuss personnel, litigation and labor negotiations at 3:30 p.m. Monday. In regular session at 5 p.m., the board will consider establishing a Special Reserve Capital Projects Fund in regard to its solar project. The board will also discuss a new policy on student use of mobile devices on campus.
OCEANSIDE
The Oceanside Unified School District board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
POWAY
The Poway Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 6 p.m. Thursday and in regular session afterward.
RAMONA
The Ramona Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 6 p.m. Thursday and in regular session at 7 p.m.
SAN DIEGUITO
The San Dieguito Union High School District board is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. Thursday.
SAN PASQUAL
The San Pasqual Union School District board will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Tuesday to discuss labor negotiations. In regular session at 5:30 p.m., the board will hear an update on its Safe Return to School Plan, and will discuss its Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
SOLANA BEACH
The Solana Beach School District board will meet in closed session at 5:15 p.m. Thursday to discuss labor negotiations and litigation. In regular session at 6:30 p.m., the board will discuss updates on the reopening of schools for the 2020-21 school year. The board will also consider a resolution opposing Solana Beach Measure S, which allows commercial cannabis in nonresidential zones, and marijuana deliveries and cultivation in all zones.
VALLECITOS/RAINBOW
The Vallecitos School District board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a public hearing on reopening school for preschool through eighth grade. The board will also appoint someone to fill the board vacancy for Area 5. A closed session will follow to discuss the superintendent’s evaluation and labor negotiations.
VISTA
The Vista Unified School District board is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. Thursday.
