THANKSGIVING MEALS
Community Thanksgiving meals will be served throughout North County thanks to a number of nonprofits, their volunteers and supporters. This year as a result of the pandemic, many of the groups will serve meals outside or via drive-thru and pick-up, following safety measures in response to the pandemic.
ESCONDIDO
Escondido American Legion Post 149 will host a Thanksgiving Dinner along with dessert from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday at the post, 230 E. Park Ave. Cost is $10; free for active-duty military and their families with military ID. Meals can be picked up. Social distancing and masks are required. Call (760) (760) 745-1159.
Interfaith Community Services will provide a free Thanksgiving Eve meal from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday as a grab ’n’ go via walk-up or drive-thru at 550 W. Washington Ave. For questions, call (760) 489-6380. Visit interfaithservices.org.
OCEANSIDE
The Salvation Army Oceanside Corps hosts its annual free Thanksgiving
Lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday as a takeout with curbside pickup at 3935 Lake Blvd. No reservations; first come, first served while meals last. For questions, call (760) 631-8212.
SOLANA BEACH
The city of Solana Beach is partnering with the North County Food Bank to provide a free drive-thru pre-thanksgiving food distribution from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at La Colonia Park, 715 Valley Ave., to help struggling families before Thanksgiving. Visit northcountyfoodbank.org/response.
