Rady Children’s launches year-end holiday fundraising campaign

The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented circumstances for San Diego's children and families, taxing their emotional and mental health and plunging many into crisis. Through it all, families have continued to rely on Rady Children's for pediatric care, from routine visits to emergency procedures. The hospital has been, and will continue to be, here for them.

Rady Children's is asking for the support of the community in joining the cause to “Tell Them Yes:” Yes, someone cares. Yes, someone is here. Yes, there is hope. As a nonprofit institution, Rady's relies on donations to help serve every child in the community regardless of their ability to pay.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has created an unparalleled situation,” said Steve Jennings, senior vice president and executive director of Rady Children's Hospital Foundation. “During a time when kids are used to hearing ‘No,' we know what it will take to give them a healthier future, which is why we are asking our community to ‘Tell Them Yes' with a gift to support pediatric health care through the end of the year.”

Funds raised during the campaign will support care for children and families seeking the hospital's services. It's important to keep children safe during primary care visits and for staff to be expertly equipped to provide critical care for the sickest children in and out of the hospital. Funds will also go to research to provide better therapies for the future.

Founded in 1954 as a polio clinic, Rady Children's has grown across the region and now serves children and teens from San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Rady's is the only area hospital dedicated exclusively to pediatric health care and only designated pediatric trauma center.
