Get It Done app work not being completed
Re “Get It Done app set to expand, but faces some challenges” (Nov. 27): I am encouraged that the city is going to make some longawaited improvements in the app. My major complaint with the app, which I have previously mentioned to my city councilmember, is that reports are currently closed out before the work is completed.
Work order backlog metrics, if captured in the app, are actually much worse than reflected, since its reports are closed out once the issue or complaint has been processed and forwarded to the proper department to be addressed, even though they might sit in that separate system for days, months or years before being completed.
I hope that city officials will address this issue when making any upcoming changes to the app.
Department paid out as much as a billion dollars of your tax monies to convicted felons — criminals who stole identities and other scofflaws who were paid unemployment funds without verification before the checks were in the mail. These funds will most likely never be recovered.
One player involved in this massive fraud was quoted saying, “It’s such an easy scam to do!” Gov. Newsom was heard to say that this EDD fiasco was totally unacceptable and he would appoint a commission to look into the matter. Really.
When will California voters begin to realize that incredible incompetence comes about when one political party, long enjoying a supermajority, is unhealthy? There are no reasonable set of checks and balances and malfeasance becomes the norm.
You worked hard for those tax dollars. What a shame they were so abused.
