Foundation puts on virtual holiday mixer

The Carlsbad Charitable Foundation hosts a virtual at-home charcuteri­e and wine tasting event from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday via Zoom for foundation members and guests to mingle virtually and learn about the CCF upcoming grant cycle and ways to maximize its impact. Speakers include past grant recipients and Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Partners in Education Rising Star Program. The event will include an optional bottle of red or white wine and a charcuteri­e board supplied by Bread and Cheese Catering for a $25 contributi­on for non-foundation members, which can be picked up 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Carlsbad Windmill. DEL MAR Indoor/outdoor arts and crafts show

The annual Del Mar Harvest Festival will be presented this year as an indoor/outdoor Harvest Holiday Art & Craft Market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Del Mar Fairground­s, O’brien Hall, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd. The event features American handmade and embellishe­d arts and crafts, following current COVID safety protocols, including masks and social distancing. ESCONDIDO Free holiday craft kit for adults

‘Better Money Habits’ topic of online series

Goodwill San Diego is teaming up with Bank of America to provide a free virtual workshop series, “Better Money Habits,” held in English and Spanish. The workshops discuss skills to improve budgeting, meet savings goals and build credit. The first is “Budgeting” at 3 p.m. Thursday; the next is “Savings” at 3 p.m. Jan. 14 about the importance of a savings account and how to use a budget to grow savings. The third workshop is on “Credit” at 3 p.m. Feb. 11 on the importance of a good credit score, how to establish credit, improve credit, and maintain credit. Winter break camp for kids kicks off Dec. 21

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside runs its annual winter break camp from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting Dec. 21. Holiday activities, lunch and snack will be offered each day at the Townsite Clubhouse, 401 Country Club Lane. The club will close at 3 p.m. Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Church holds food, clothing drive

The Village Church hosts a food and clothing drive from 10:30 to noon Saturday in the church’s lower parking lot, near the preschool, 6225 Paseo Delicias. The church will collect canned food, pasta and cereal, along with used clothing for men and women served by New Day Urban Ministries based in downtown San Diego. The group is also asking for new underwear for men sizes 3036 and new men’s sneakers in sizes 9-12. Participan­ts receive a free ice cream from the Sweet Treats gourmet ice cream truck.
