Richard Haux Sr.

April 16, 1946 - November 5, 2020

SAN DIEGO — Richard Haux Sr “Rick”, age 74, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2020, at his home in San Diego, surrounded by his loved ones.

Rick was born April 16, 1946 in Bismarck, ND to Fred and Mary Haux. Rick was the next to last child of twelve siblings; two older brothers and one younger brother survive him. He joined the US Navy, serving his tour in Vietnam, when he was only 17. Rick was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and was honorably discharged in March 1967 to complete his education at SDSU where he graduated with a degree in Accounting and began his career with Haskins & Sells.

Rick’s original core circle of business contacts from Haskins and Sells, turned into lifelong friends and business partners. Rick spent the majority of

his career leading many successful companies in the Home Furniture Industry.

Rick is survived by his spouse, Lisa and former spouse, Carolyn, his son, Richard “Rick Jr”, and his spouse Janine, Rick Jr’s children: Madeline, Nathan, and Elissa, and five great grandchildren, his son, Jeffrey “Jeff ” and his spouse, Evi and, Jeff ’s children: Ryan, Zachary and Luke.

Rick will be honored with a Military funeral and interment at Miramar National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for Rick is planned for late Spring 2021.
