City ignoring homeless problems Downtown

Re “Not seeing homeless issues getting better” (Dec. 10): The letter writer is right on. But it is an understate­ment. It is worse than she describes.

Try walking down Eighth, Ninth or 10th Avenues from B Street to Market Street. Disgusting­ly filthy. And dangerous. People blocking the sidewalk, refusing to move. To bypass them, you have to walk into the street and risk getting hit by a car.

It is time to solve this problem and not ignore it for extended periods of time. Hopefully, the new mayor and City Council will get on this immediatel­y. Bill Mccarthy Cortez Hill
