Homebuying trends changed by Covid

-

The Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors (PSAR) reports several new home-buying trends have emerged as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. “Our sales agents are constantly reinventing themselves to stay more closely attuned to changing buyer-and-seller needs,” said Carey Guthrie, a PSAR board member. Guthrie said some homeowners are relocating to the suburbs out of downtown areas where restaurants and entertainment venues have been shut down by coronavirus-related restrictions. Also, millennials who previously selected apartments, preferring travel and other experiences, have been disrupted to look more closely at homeownership as a key priority. In addition, multi-generational households are increasing as some family members are selling their smaller, separate homes to purchase a larger home or lot with multiple living units.
