50TH ANNIVERSARY

James “Jimmy” & Maria Gonzales

-

Married at St John’s Catholic Church in Encinitas, December 12, 1970. Mom and Dad have spent their lives together in their home they literally built themselves in Cardiff by-the-sea. To call them locals is an understatement; they are part of the Eden Gardens, Gonzales and Cardiff, Moreno legacies. Little did Dad know when he walked into Tony’s Jacal Restaurant, he would meet the love of his life, Maria. Together they have created a beautiful family, raised two daughters, Julie and Tina. Julie has 2 children, which Mom and Dad adore and love to spoil. Tina lives and works in San Francisco and visits often. Mom and Dad enjoy time with family, traveling with friends, golfing, time in the garden, walking to see the beautiful sunsets, and quiet evenings at home playing cards and enjoying a glass of wine. To see our parents dance together to the Oldies and Mariachi music is magical, and always makes us smile in admiration. Our parents have exemplified love for one another and what it takes to keep a solid partnership with love, respect and always supporting one another. They truly have the biggest hearts. Their door and hearts are always open to family, friends and neighbors. They have worked hard to enjoy a beautiful life together and they deserve all the blessings that come their way. We asked them what their secret to their successful marriage is: “Faith and family first, never go to bed upset with each other and always a kiss goodnight.” We love you Mom and Dad, thank you for being amazing role models and friends to all who are taken under your wing. Love, Julie and Tina
