The Carlsbad City Council will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday to review whether or not to adjust its compensati­on for 2021, whether to adjust the city’s part-time and management salary schedules, and whether to increase those employees’ pay. The council will hear a report on COVID-19 expenses and will discuss whether to use $1.5 million from its budget to pay for them. The council will hear a report on the Monroe Street Pool Renovation/ Replacemen­t Project and consider design concepts. An informatio­nal presentati­on on the Ponto property in the Poinsettia Shores Master Plan, will be given, including an overview of the planned and allowed land uses, and other informatio­n on the property’s developmen­t.

ENCINITAS

The Encinitas City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday for a public hearing on an appeal of the Planning Commission’s approval of the environmen­tal report on Fox Point Farms, a proposed four-lot subdivisio­n with a 250-unit residentia­l developmen­t, a farm stand market, farm-to-table restaurant with on-site alcohol service, agricultur­al uses, private recreation center and event venue at 1150 Quail Gardens Drive.

The city is requesting more community input on affordable housing for all income levels and fair housing. Participat­ion will provide valuable informatio­n to help Encinitas make informed decisions on the developmen­t of affordable housing. ESCONDIDO

The Escondido City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday to consider a series of resolution­s to implement the Palomar Heights project. The project would build 510 residentia­l dwelling units and up to 10,000 square feet of commercial/office space on properties formerly occupied by the Palomar Hospital downtown campus and surroundin­g buildings. Valley Boulevard would become a one-way street (northbound only) with parking on both sides.

The city has an opportunit­y to provide more space to play soccer by installing two futsal courts, otherwise known as Mini-pitch Systems, in Washington Park. Mini-pitches are hard-surface courts that are often installed on underused tennis and basketball courts. OCEANSIDE

The Oceanside City Council will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a workshop to interview candidates for the District 1 vacancy. The mayor and council may each present up to five candidates for considerat­ion. After the interviews, the council will consider each finalist until a majority vote is reached. The council may then appoint a new member, or it may call for a special election.

SAN MARCOS

The San Marcos City Council has canceled its regularly scheduled meeting for Tuesday.

SOLANA BEACH

The Solana Beach City Council will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Wednesday to discuss property negotiatio­ns and litigation. In regular session at 6 p.m., the council will consider appointmen­ts to its citizen commission­s. The council will also consider a request to urge Congress to enact the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act of 2019.

VISTA

The Vista City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday for a public hearing on a resolution to do street reconfigur­ation and improvemen­t at 802 S. Santa Fe Ave. This work would be in connection with the Paseo Santa Fe Streetscap­e Improvemen­t Project. The council is also scheduled to discuss a proposed zoning change at 1205 Melrose Way to allow up to 11 single-family lots no smaller than 10,000 square feet where current zoning allows five single-family residentia­l lots no smaller than onehalf acre.

SCHOOL DISTRICTS

CARLSBAD

The Carlsbad Unified School District board will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday to hear an update on the district’s progress in expanding on-campus cohorts for middle and high school students. In a study session, the board will review career pathways and Career Technical Education courses.

DEL MAR

The Del Mar Union School District board will meet at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday in closed session to discuss litigation. In open session at 5:45 p.m., the board will hear an update on the progress of the Spanish Language Immersion Program. Superinten­dent Holly Mcclurg will give a report on district/superinten­dent goals and priorities for 2020-2021: educationa­l programs; race, equity and inclusion; budget; and COVID-19. Staff will also provide an update on school facilities including the Del Mar Heights School Rebuild, Pacific Highlands Ranch School #9, and other projects.

ESCONDIDO

The Escondido Union School District board has scheduled a special meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday.

FALLBROOK

The Fallbrook Union High School District board will meet in closed session at 3:30 p.m. Monday to discuss personnel, litigation and labor negotiatio­ns. In open session at 5 p.m., the board will consider waiving the graduation requiremen­t for community service for the class of 2021, because of COVID-19.

SOLANA BEACH

The Solana Beach School District board is scheduled to meet in special session at 2 p.m. Thursday.
