AGENDAS CITY COUNCILS

The Carlsbad City Council will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday to review whether or not to adjust its compensation for 2021, whether to adjust the city’s part-time and management salary schedules, and whether to increase those employees’ pay. The council will hear a report on COVID-19 expenses and will discuss whether to use $1.5 million from its budget to pay for them. The council will hear a report on the Monroe Street Pool Renovation/ Replacement Project and consider design concepts. An informational presentation on the Ponto property in the Poinsettia Shores Master Plan, will be given, including an overview of the planned and allowed land uses, and other information on the property’s development.
ENCINITAS
The Encinitas City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday for a public hearing on an appeal of the Planning Commission’s approval of the environmental report on Fox Point Farms, a proposed four-lot subdivision with a 250-unit residential development, a farm stand market, farm-to-table restaurant with on-site alcohol service, agricultural uses, private recreation center and event venue at 1150 Quail Gardens Drive.
The city is requesting more community input on affordable housing for all income levels and fair housing. Participation will provide valuable information to help Encinitas make informed decisions on the development of affordable housing. ESCONDIDO
The Escondido City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday to consider a series of resolutions to implement the Palomar Heights project. The project would build 510 residential dwelling units and up to 10,000 square feet of commercial/office space on properties formerly occupied by the Palomar Hospital downtown campus and surrounding buildings. Valley Boulevard would become a one-way street (northbound only) with parking on both sides.
The city has an opportunity to provide more space to play soccer by installing two futsal courts, otherwise known as Mini-pitch Systems, in Washington Park. Mini-pitches are hard-surface courts that are often installed on underused tennis and basketball courts. OCEANSIDE
The Oceanside City Council will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a workshop to interview candidates for the District 1 vacancy. The mayor and council may each present up to five candidates for consideration. After the interviews, the council will consider each finalist until a majority vote is reached. The council may then appoint a new member, or it may call for a special election.
SAN MARCOS
The San Marcos City Council has canceled its regularly scheduled meeting for Tuesday.
SOLANA BEACH
The Solana Beach City Council will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Wednesday to discuss property negotiations and litigation. In regular session at 6 p.m., the council will consider appointments to its citizen commissions. The council will also consider a request to urge Congress to enact the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act of 2019.
VISTA
The Vista City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday for a public hearing on a resolution to do street reconfiguration and improvement at 802 S. Santa Fe Ave. This work would be in connection with the Paseo Santa Fe Streetscape Improvement Project. The council is also scheduled to discuss a proposed zoning change at 1205 Melrose Way to allow up to 11 single-family lots no smaller than 10,000 square feet where current zoning allows five single-family residential lots no smaller than onehalf acre.
SCHOOL DISTRICTS
CARLSBAD
The Carlsbad Unified School District board will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday to hear an update on the district’s progress in expanding on-campus cohorts for middle and high school students. In a study session, the board will review career pathways and Career Technical Education courses.
DEL MAR
The Del Mar Union School District board will meet at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday in closed session to discuss litigation. In open session at 5:45 p.m., the board will hear an update on the progress of the Spanish Language Immersion Program. Superintendent Holly Mcclurg will give a report on district/superintendent goals and priorities for 2020-2021: educational programs; race, equity and inclusion; budget; and COVID-19. Staff will also provide an update on school facilities including the Del Mar Heights School Rebuild, Pacific Highlands Ranch School #9, and other projects.
ESCONDIDO
The Escondido Union School District board has scheduled a special meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday.
FALLBROOK
The Fallbrook Union High School District board will meet in closed session at 3:30 p.m. Monday to discuss personnel, litigation and labor negotiations. In open session at 5 p.m., the board will consider waiving the graduation requirement for community service for the class of 2021, because of COVID-19.
SOLANA BEACH
The Solana Beach School District board is scheduled to meet in special session at 2 p.m. Thursday.
