TRITONS COACH HITS MILESTONE

UC San Diego coach Heidi Vanderveer reached a milestone Saturday night when her team took care of business at UC Riverside.

The Tritons defeated the Highlanders 74-67 at SRC Arena, earning Van- Derveer her 300th career victory and second in two nights at Riverside.

For the second straight night, Sydney Brown recorded a doubledouble. She finished with 17 points and 16 boards. Her 16 rebounds were a career high.

Vanderveer is now 167-57 during her time at UC San Diego. Previously, she served as the head coach at Eastern Washington (199497) and Occidental (200812).

With the victory, the Tritons improved to 4-7 overall and in Big West Conference play, while the Highlanders dropped to 7-9 on the season and 5-7 in league play.

On the men's side, Gabe Hadley hit a 3pointer with seven seconds left in overtime as the host Tritons earned an 83-82 win over Riverside (10-5, 5-3 Big West).

Hadley scored 25 points and added five assists, while Toni Rocak and Hugh Baxter each added 16 points for the Tritons (5-7, 2-5).
