Trump to speak at conservative conference
Former President Donald Trump will speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Florida this week, his first major public appearance since leaving office, a Trump aide said Saturday.
The topic of Trump’s remarks will be “the future of the Republican Party and the conservative movement,” along with the immigration policies President Joe Biden has put forth so far, the aide said.
The conference, one of the most prominent annual gatherings for conservatives, is slated to take place Feb. 25 to 28 in Orlando, Fla. Trump’s appearance there will come amid heated debates about the direction of the Republican Party, where there is a growing divide between those who want the GOP to distance from Trump and those who see the party’s future as tied to the former president.
