Parents should worry more about COVID-19

-

Re “Parents, students must demand schools open” (Feb. 26): The parents are putting the wrong emphasis on the wrong syllable. The slogan should not be “no more Zoom,” it should be “stop COVID-19.” That is the real enemy, not the schools, not the government.

If we could all see a virtual tour of a local hospital where COVID-19 patients are, going back to in-person school would not be where we want to go quite yet. We can’t see the problem, so we need to have faith that the loss of 500,000 people so far is not a left-wing socialist ploy. Let the vaccines lead the way back — closer to normal. Let the kids be safe first. John H. Borja El Cajon
