Cynthia Dalrymple Jackson

January 23, 1939 - February 27, 2021

SAN DIEGO — Cynthia D. Jackson, our loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2021.

Cindy was a native of San Diego and attended La Jolla High School where she was an early AFS exchange student to Sweden. She attended San Diego State University until she was called away as a new Navy bride having her first two sons while deployed in other cities and two more before she was 30. As a career, she managed the books for Jackson Construction Company and had an interior design business. Cindy was committed to charities and assumed leadership roles in most including Las Amiguitas, Jr. League, Thursday Club, Assembly and Cotillion where she was a member for 50 years. Her lifetime of community service cumulated in a Woman of Dedication honor bestowed by the Salvation Army.

While Cindy had many lifetime accomplishments, none matches the pride in her family. Cindy and her husband, Richard Wayland Jackson, were married for 61 years. Together, they raised four sons on the values of responsibility, hard work and having fun. Cindy is survived by her husband Richard and sons Jim (Liz), Jeff (Vanessa), John (Bonnie) and Jay

Jackson, AFS exchange student Marko Boger and 8 grandchildren.

Cindy enjoyed entertaining with a passion and cherished her friends dearly. With her 4 boys in tow, she camped extensively and later enjoyed exploring the globe including cruises, home exchanges and travel throughout Mexico searching for authentic décor to adorn their home. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing bridge.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in her honor to The Thursday Club Foundation.
