-

OCEANSIDE — Nancy Eleanor Conner, long-time resident of Oceanside, California, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2021.

Nancy was born in the fall of 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin and graduated in 1958 with a degree in Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Nancy spent her early career working in the Chicago Loop. She was a senior aide to the head of the Art Institute of Chicago and later worked closely with Charles F. Murphy, head of a well known Chicago architectural firm whose commissions included Chicago’s O’hare International Airport.

In 1975, Nancy relocated

October 15, 1936 - March 3, 2021 to blue-skied Oceanside, just north of San Diego. She worked at the right hand of the President and CEO of Ecke Ranch in Encinitas, one of the largest poinsettia producers worldwide. She finished her career with the North County Transit District.

For almost fifty years, Nancy lived in her Southern California

community, building lifelong friendships and strong community ties. Her last few years were spent at Las Villas de Carlsbad in Carlsbad, California with her sweet and always loyal cat, Honey, by her side. She had a long-time interest in genealogy and traveled to learn more about her Irish and French heritage.

Nancy’s unconditional acceptance and love for her friends and close family members was warm, easy and contagious. She was kind, positive and fun in the purest way. Open-armed and friendly to everyone in her orbit, Nancy was a joy to be around. She scooped up everyone in her path with her bright, infectious smile.

She had a truly special bond with her fun-loving parents, and later her stepfather. She was adored by her aunties, uncles and numerous cousins - both close and distant. Nancy will be dearly missed, but we are comforted imagining the warm welcome she’s receiving from all of her loved ones who have passed.

Nancy’s funeral mass and burial will be private. She is survived by numerous loving first cousins and a large extended family. Nancy will be long remembered and sorely missed for her loving kindness, warmth, humor and infectious smile.
