Sandra Barbour Root

August 29, 1935 - March 22, 2021

SAN DIEGO — Sandra Russell Barbour Root passed peacefully in her longtime University City home. She is survived by her four sons, Brian, Gregory, Douglas, and Aaron; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She will be interred with Donald George Root, her beloved husband of nearly 63 years, at Miramar National Cemetery. The name Sandra is derived from the Greek name Alexandra, a warrior and defender of mankind. Her life fully exemplified this meaning.
