SCHOOL DISTRICTS
BONSALL
The Bonsall Unified School District board met Monday to discuss services offered by the San Diego County Office of Education to help in finding a new superintendent.
POWAY
The Poway Unified School District board met in closed session Thursday to discuss litigation, property negotiations and labor negotiations. In open session, the board heard an update on school reopening. High school students began attending four days a week on campus starting April 5; Middle schoolers will begin attending four days a week on campus starting April 19. On April 20, Painted Rock Elementary will begin a pilot expanded on-campus schedule of 4 hours, 10 minutes, and on April 26, all elementary schools will begin the expanded on-campus schedule.
SAN MARCOS
The San Marcos Unified School District board scheduled a closed meeting at 8 a.m. Saturday to discuss the superintendent’s position.
VALLEY CENTER-PAUMA
The Valley Center-pauma Unified School District board met in closed session Thursday to discuss personnel, labor negotiations and litigation. In open session, the board heard an update on summer school programs and approved the initial proposal and openers to the Valley Center-pauma Teachers Association for an addition to the 2018-2021 contract. The board also reviewed and accepted its 2019-20 audit report, and heard an update on the status of the hybrid instructional model and on possibly increasing the number of days that students are on campus.
VISTA
The Vista Unified School District board met in closed session Thursday to discuss labor negotiations and litigation. In open session, the board approved the transfer of undeveloped land in the district to the San Marcos Unified School District, in return for $2.4 million from developers. The board also approved the hiring of 29 full- and part-time positions, including 20 learning loss specialists.
