CITY COUNCILS
CARLSBAD
The Carlsbad City Council will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday to give final approval to amending ordinances on campaign disclosures and campaign contributions. The council will also discuss whether to select the Clean Energy Alliance Power Supply for the city’s electric service accounts.
ENCINITAS
The Encinitas City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday to discuss the city’s Capital Improvement Program and other operational programs.
ESCONDIDO
The Escondido City Council canceled its regularly scheduled meeting for Wednesday.
OCEANSIDE
The Oceanside City Council is scheduled to meet for a budget workshop at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
SAN MARCOS
The San Marcos City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, when it will discuss accepting funds from the 2019 State Homeland Security grant program and the 2019 and 2020 Urban Area Security Initiative grant program.
SOLANA BEACH
The Solana Beach City Council will meet in closed session to discuss litigation at 4 p.m. Wednesday. At 4:30 p.m. the council will meet in open session to discuss and provide direction on potential modifications to the draft 2021/22 Work Plan. At 6 p.m., the council will hold a public hearing on the city’s 6th Cycle Housing Element. The city is inviting the community to participate or provide comments beforehand. The council will also discuss whether to support two firearms-related bills. SB 264 would ban gun and ammunition sales (gun shows) on state- or county-owned property, which would include the Del Mar Fairgrounds. AB 452 would require schools to notify parents about the safe storage of firearms.
VISTA
The Vista City Council will meet in closed session to discuss labor negotiations at 4 p.m. Tuesday. In open session at 5:30 p.m., the council will discuss an application for a zoning change to mixed use for 8.3 acres at 650 Sycamore Ave. The preliminary proposal includes nine three-story residential buildings with 256 multifamily rental units, a 3,000-squarefoot commercial building and 628 parking spaces. The council will also hear a budget report.
