TRADITIONAL MUSIC

-

St. Patrick’s Day has come and gone, but if you’re still in the mood for music from the Emerald Isle, you can stream 75 minutes’ worth from Lamb’s Players Theatre. In its newest “Lamb’s Concerts” streaming, cast members from the Coronado-based company’s stellar 2018 production of the film-turnedbroadway musical “Once” perform 20 tunes, with instruments. “An

Irish Cabaret,” tickets for which are $20, is apt to stir the souls of all those partial to these songs so steeped in storytelling and tradition. I prefer the ballads over the program’s abundance of toe-tappers and singalongs. Among the former are the cautionary “The Shankill Butchers” rendered by Caitie Grady and Charles Evans Jr., “Down by the Salley Gardens” with Deborah Gilmour Smyth and Angela Chatelain Avila, and the well-known “Danny Boy,” with Avila and Luke Monday, left, duetting on both vocals and violins.

Also in the onstage ensemble are Greg Campbell, David Rumley, Manny Fernandes, Nathan Peirson and James Mchale. lambsplayers.org
