VISUAL ART

-

“My World, Our Planet” is the

theme of the San Diego Museum of

Art’s “Young Art 2021” student exhibition. In it, K-12 students from across the county submitted works that emphasized the importance of taking care of the Earth and its resources. You can view featured works on the museum’s designated webpage through May 9. These are pretty remarkable. I can’t do them justice describing them here, so you’ll have to see for yourself. But consider the following as you scroll: titles like “Plastic Ocean” and “Plastiquarium” and “Plastic Not Dinner”; a depiction of the year 2050 with people wearing gas masks; and a seagull on the shoreline with a discarded paper bag of Goldfish crackers in its bill. These young people get it. So should we. sdmart.org
