San Diego Loyal kicks off single-game ticket sales
Single-game tickets for the San Diego Loyal men’s soccer team are now on sale. This is the second season for the professional, second-division United Soccer League team, coached by Landon Donovan. The home opener at the University of San Diego’s Torero Stadium is on Saturday.
“Soccer has long been the most popular sport on the planet, but more than ever before, it is now the world’s game,” said Ricardo Campos, San Diego Loyal general manager and vice president of operations and game day experience. “The city of San Diego has its very own professional soccer team, led by arguably the greatest American soccer player, Landon Donovan, and fans can now witness the club compete for a championship under the lights at USD’S Torero Stadium.”
San Diego Loyal was only able to play one game in front of fans in its inaugural season last year, and it was sold out. The team’s 2021 roster is filled with some of the sport’s most talented players from all over the world, but most importantly, good humans on and off the field, Campos said.
“For most, it’s not a stretch to say sports and the camaraderie it provides gives people a purpose in life. 2020 was devastating to the entertainment and sports industry and those that crave it,” he said. “After a long year inside, and as California sets up for a full reopen, SD Loyal is committed to bringing an exceptional, safe and entertaining experience. Fans are encouraged to act quickly as there’s no doubt that tickets will be scarce once fans have a chance to experience a SD Loyal match.”
