CITY COUNCILS

The Carlsbad City Council has made reducing homelessne­ss one of its top goals. To receive community input on the proposed programs, virtual meetings are being scheduled in each district. Find links to sign up at bit.ly/3fhyh5k. Residents are encouraged to attend in their districts, but are welcome at any of the meetings, which begin at 5:30 p.m. The schedule of remaining meetings: District 1, June 3; District 3, June 7. Council representa­tives and the mayor will attend to hear feedback firsthand. All feedback will be presented to the City Council Homeless Action Subcommitt­ee on June 24.

OCEANSIDE

The Oceanside City Council will meet in closed session at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss labor negotiatio­ns and litigation. In open session at 5 p.m., the council will hold hearings and approve several budgets for 2021-22, including the city’s operating budget, the capital improvemen­ts program budget, and harbor district operating budget. The council will hold a hearing on a resolution establishi­ng solid-waste user rates; and on a resolution to remove the “medical only” restrictio­n on all cannabis-related facilities allowed by the city. An ordinance to update the drought response conservati­on measures will also be considered.

POWAY

The Poway City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday for a public hearing and final approval of its 2020 Urban Water Management Plan. The council will also consider a resolution authorizin­g reimbursem­ent of some Water Capital Improvemen­t expenditur­es.

The city is asking for public input as it creates an action plan for future programmin­g and amenities at Community Park. Virtual community workshops will be held at 6 p.m. June 8 and 9 to engage park users with live polling questions and public comments. With more housing on Poway Road, the city expects park use to increase. New park impact fees will also help improvemen­t projects at the park. Register for either workshop at plancommun­itypark.com.

VISTA

The Vista City Council will hold a workshop at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to hear updates on its Climate Action Plan and on Community Choice Aggregatio­n.

SCHOOL DISTRICTS CARDIFF

The Cardiff School District board is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. Thursday.

DEL MAR

The district has scheduled its first community design meeting for the Del Mar Hills Academy Modernizat­ion Project to be held via Zoom at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Staff and members of the Lionakis architect team will share initial informatio­n on the project scope and get community input on their goals and needs. This first input meeting will yield informatio­n that will help the architects develop plans over the summer and return for more input at the start of the 2021-2022 school year. ENCINITAS

The Encinitas Union School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session to discuss litigation and personnel at 5 p.m. Tuesday and in open session at 6 p.m.

The Poway Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 6 p.m. Thursday, and in regular session afterward.
