El Cajon mayor to perform fundraising show
El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells and friends host and perform at a fundraiser at 8 p.m. Aug. 28 at The Magnolia for the East County Transitional Living Center. Tickets for the live musical performances will include a silent auction and painting demonstration. County panel holding redistricting hearing
San Diego County’s Independent Redistricting Commission is holding a virtual and in-person public hearing on redistricting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday 8/26 at the Ronald Reagan Community Center, 195 E Douglas Ave., El Cajon, to hear from District 2 residents. The goal is to ensure that people are fairly represented when drawing district lines. Those who live in other supervisorial districts are also welcome. Issa’s office will host free online cybersecurity webinar
The office of Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-50) will host a free online cybersecurity webinar for small business owners and organization leaders from 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday. The chief of cybersecurity for the western United States from national Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency will speak and answer questions. Tickets on sale for La Mesa Chamber ‘Taste’ event
The La Mesa Chamber of Commerce’s 12th annual “Taste of San Diego — East” event takes place from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 30 at the newly renovated Town & Country Hotel, 500 Hotel Circle North, Mission Valley. La Mesa seeks members for Library Task Force
La Mesa is looking for seven members for its Library Task Force. Members will research options to expand La Mesa’s branch of the San Diego County Library to better fit the city’s size and needs. The task force will recommend action to the City Council. Public Defender looking for ‘remarkable teens’
The San Diego County Public Defender is seeking the community’s help for this year’s third annual installment of the “25 Most Remarkable Teens in San Diego” program. The program highlights youths ages 13-19 and celebrates them for positive accomplishments and showcases the ways they contribute to their community.
