Dr. Landon Amonette, who was born and raised in San Diego, suffered a traumatic injury when he was 11 years old that left him with debilitating migraine headaches and paralysis of the left side of his face. After seeing many doctors to help relieve his suffering, he started losing hope. Even with many medications, as a young teen he was still in terrible pain and was unable to function in the morning and attend regular school. Because of his paralyzed face, he looked different and smiled different and was teased and bullied. He became so depressed, he even considered taking his own life. Fortunately, his strong personal faith in God saw him through that dark time and an awesome Doctor of Chiropractic changed his life forever. That chiropractor cared for him and adjusted his spine to remove the nerve interference in his body, allowing him to heal. Soon after beginning treatment, Dr. Amonette became pain free. He was able to stop taking all of his medications, and he began to share his story of hope. By the time he was 16, Dr. Amonette knew he wanted to become a chiropractor. Now also known as Dr. Awesome, he is the clinic director at Awesome Family Chiropractic in La Mesa and Alpine, including gentle, safe and effective chiropractic care for the entire family. Dr. Awesome has also authored his first book coming out this fall. Visit theawesomedietbook.com to sign up for a sneak peek of the first chapter.
