SAN DIEGO, CA — Carmen was born December 22, 1938 in Niagara Falls, New York to Carmen Scozzafava and Helen Marsili, who were both from Italy. Carmen had two siblings, Rosemarie and Richard (Ricky). The family moved to San Diego where Carmen attended elementary school, Horace Mann Jr High School, Hoover High School and later graduated from SDSU with a degree in Business Administration. In Jr High School, Carmen met the love of his life Kathryn Elizabeth Armstrong. They shared the rest of their life together and 63 years of blissful marriage.

Carmen had an extremely successful career in management for Pacific Bell and AT&T for 28 years, and retired in 1989 at the age of 49. For the next 33 years, he and Kay would travel the world with family and friends, making frequent visits to Europe, Africa, and the Holy Land. During retirement Carmen also worked part-time as a pari mutuel at the Del Mar racetrack and as a proctor for several local colleges. \He and Kay also spent much time at their grandsons’ sporting events, including baseball, football, lacrosse, soccer, Karate and more.

Carmen’s biggest love was for his family: Kay, his loving wife of 63 years, sons Michael and Mark, daughter-in law Lori, and grandsons Kyle, married to Kayla Hayes, Derek, married to Lexi Rooks, Tucker, and Anthony. Carmen will be missed so very much, but his loving and thoughtful memories will remain with his family and friends forever.

A private celebration of life will be planned at later date.
