Mission Fed Artwalk returns to celebrate the creative arts in 37th annual festival
The longest-running festival of fine arts in San Diego is making a return with a weekend-long festival of art and culture next Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2-3. The 37th annual Mission Fed Artwalk, an event that usually takes place in the spring, was rescheduled to the fall.
Centered in San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood, the grand festival will feature creatives from visual and performing arts communities who will display and sell their masterpieces. A variety of media by local, national and international artists will be exhibited and sold at the event, including paintings, sculptures, glasswork, fine jewelry and photography.
The event will also showcase standout San Diegomusicians, street food and interactive art activities for families. Activities are held in a prime location for fine dining, to complement the art.
An art guitar auction will also be held to benefit Artreach San Diego, a nonprofit organization focused on increasing equity in visual arts education in K-8 schools throughout San Diego County. More than 30 guitars have been designed by participating artists, including world-renowned musicians Jason Mraz, and Tom Delonge of Angels & Airwaves (and formerly of blink-182), as well as several well-known local artists. To bid in the live online auction, visit www.artreachsandiego.org.
This year’s Mission Fed Artwalk will be located between Beech and Grape streets in San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Guests can take the MTS Trolley to the County Administration Center/ Little Italy stop.
The use of face masks at the event is recommended to help protect public health and safety. Learn more about the event and preview the artists at www.missionfedartwalk.org.
