Audrey F. Hillier

SAN MARCOS, CA — Audrey F. Hillier of San Marcos, CA passed peacefully in her sleep on August 14, 2021. She was 96 years old.

Audrey grew up in Illinois and began studying nursing during World War II. It was on a break from her studies in 1945 that she met her husband Donald and after two short weeks the two married, a union that would last 74 years. After the war the two settled in San Diego with hopes of pursuing careers and raising a family.

Audrey had a long career in nursing, most of which was spent at Kearny Mesa Medical Group. She was also involved with her church and many charitable organizations. In her free time she could be found playing bridge with one of the many card clubs to which she belonged or traveling on yet another adventure with the Cheerful Chariots Motorhome Club.

Audrey is predeceased by her husband Donald. She is survived by her four children Gregg, Jody, Scott and Brent, one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

She asked that in lieu of flowers, donations are made to the Salvation Army.
