David M. Pine

September 26, 1941 - September 4, 2021

VISTA, CA — David M. Pine, 79, of Vista, CA, died unexpectedly of complications from pneumonia Sept. 4, 2021.

David was born September 26, 1941, the son of Ellis and Nelle Pine, brother to Raymond Pine of Vista. David and wife Jo Ann shared forty plus years together. Children: Joyce Pierce (Randy) of Vacaville, Michael Pine (Kristin) of Japan, stepsons Scott Davidson (Lynn) of PA., Craig Davidson (Laurie) of Florida. Grandchildren: Spencer Davidson (Rachel), Tyler Davidson, Andrea and Taylor Pierce, Amelia and Sean Pine and great-granddaughter Harper Jo Davidson; nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and many special friends.

David was a graduate of Vista High School. He retired as a Captain from the Vista City Fire Dept. following 30 years of service.

David was an avid fisherman, sailor, chef, wine aficionado and family man. He was a Life member of Oceanside Yacht Club and the Oceanside Anglers Club. He handcrafted fishing poles, knives and canes. Special gatherings and wine tastings will be sorely missed.

There will be no services at his request. Donations in David’s name may be made to Rady’s Children’s Hospital, American Kidney Foundation, Save the Redwoods, or any charity of your choice.
