BONITA —

On December 27, 2021, surrounded by family, Maureen Lesneski passed away peacefully in Bonita after a brief illness. She was 80 years old.

Maureen was born on September 20, 1941, in White Plains, New York, and came to California at a young age. She graduated from Sweetwater Union High School and went on to a wonderful career of 31 years at Pac Bell. There she introduced and taught classes on some of the first computer systems at the company.

Maureen is survived by her former husband, John Lesneski, daughter Stephanie Christman, granddaugh­ter Taylor Peterson, grandson Zachary Christman, greatgrand­daughter Peytynn Peterson, and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Erickson and John Hickey, and her brothers Fred Hickey and John “Skip” Hickey.

Maureen enjoyed the many local casinos and had many interests and hobbies: she loved visiting with her greatgrand­daughter Peytynn, was an avid bowler on several leagues, attending motorcycle rallies, watching and attending many Padre games, concerts, and most of all, family gatherings where she always lit up the room with her generous smile. She loved to travel by any means to any destinatio­n, including spur of the moment road trips, trips to Disneyland, and RV adventures.

Her memorial service is scheduled for January 21, 2022, 10 am at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, followed by the burial ceremony at 11 am. Flowers and condolence­s can be sent to Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Rd, Bonita, CA 91902.
