Savage update: The MASL’S hottest teams face off today. Chihuahua got off to a slow start this season but has come on stong of late, winning seven in a row and scoring 80 goals in the stretch, including a 21-goal outburst against the Tacoma Stars. Midfielder Jorge Rios leads Chihuahua with 31 points (24 goals, seven assists) thus far. Forward Hugo Puentes is second with 25 points (13 -12). The Savage are plus 15 in goal differenti­al, but plus 30 during their winning streak.

Sockers update: San Diego (42 points) is running away with the Pacific Division, a full 17 points clear of second place Ontario. Chihuahua is in third with 21 points. San Diego is already 3-0 against the Savage this season, with two of the losses by just one goal. Those two were at home, however. The Sockers won the first matchup this season at home 4-1. Brandon Escoto leads the way for the Sockers with 35 points (17 goals, 18 assists), but they have three other players with more than 30 points.
