SAN DIEGO — Michael Kennedy of San Diego, CA died of natural causes Sunday, February 27 at his home. He was 56 years of age. Mike’s formative years were full of many positive memories made while growing up in Smallwood, NY and attending Monticello Schools where he was a member of the cross country and track teams. He was a Parishioner of St. Peter’s Parish where he was a long time alter server at St. Joseph’s Church. Mike spent a good portion of each summer at White Lake swimming and water skiing with his family. After finishing high school, Mike went on to the Culinary Institute of America and became a Chef. He moved to San Diego, CA where he spent many of his years working for Sheraton Hotels. Mike was known to be skilled in his culinary expertise while exhibiting an endearing demeanor that earned the deep respect of hotel patrons, subordinates and management alike.

Mike leaves many friends and admirers behind in his passing. He formulated a multitude of deep relationships in his San Diego community and was loved by many.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret Kennedy, his brothers Edward (Patty), Patrick (Kelly) and Kevin (Teresa) and his nieces and nephews Kathleen Mcmains (Jacob), Brendan Kennedy, Sean Kennedy, Annie Kennedy, Bridget Kennedy and Maire Kennedy. He was predeceased by his father, Edward Kennedy, Sr. and nephew Patrick Kennedy, Jr.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 8 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 1668 State Street, San Diego, at 9:00 AM. Interment will held at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, immediately following at approximately 10:30 AM on, April 8.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 11:00 AM at The Lamplighter, 817 West Washington Street, San Diego.
