Culver Greenwell ‘Cub ‘ Parker

SAN DIEGO — Native Californian Culver “Cub” Greenwell Parker passed away April 4, 2022, at the age of 81, surrounded by family.
Cub was born December 9, 1940, in San Jose, California, to Frederick “Cub” Culver Parker and Anna Elizabeth Greenwell Parker. He was very proud of being an eighthgeneration Californian and enjoyed studying his family history, tracing his ancestry to Mexico and Italy. He grew up in Palm Springs, California, where he graduated high school and enjoyed enduring friendships. He attended Cal Poly Pomona, where he earned a degree in business, after which he attended Cal Western School of Law, earning a Juris Doctor degree. Cub enjoyed a successful career in insurance and banking and was actively engaged in numerous community and professional organizations. He was instrumental in founding programs at UCSD Connect and Tech Coast Angels and was a member of The Committee of One Hundred, committed to preserving Balboa Park’s historic architecture, gardens, and public spaces.
Life was an adventure for Cub. He loved people from all walks of life. He served as a role model and mentor to many young up-and-coming professionals. Cub was a true renaissance man who possessed a keen curiosity for a wide variety of subjects. He became a self-taught expert in the areas of art, cars, and coins.
Cub is survived by his beautiful wife Elisa, her son Josh (wife Danielle and grandson Jack), sister-in-law Maureen, niece Kerry Ann, nephew Michael (wife Andrea, nieces Kaya and Malia, nephew Niko) and stepson Scott Mcintyre and stepdaughter Molly Mcintyre. His family also includes his beloved brother Stephen (deceased).
