Arlene I. Webber

ESCONDIDO, CA — Arlene Webber passed away peacefully on March 7, 2022 at 89 years of age.

She was born in Linden, WI to Aaron and Christine Avenell. Having married Morgan Webber in 1950, she subsequent­ly moved to Escondido CA in 1957. Her infectious laugh and joyful spirit live on in the memories of her numerous friends and family.

While bringing up six children, Arlene still found time to volunteer for many organizati­ons such as: PTA, Women’s Club, Methodist Youth Fellowship, Escondido Youth Encounter to name just a few. She loved to volunteer at local elementary schools. It was pure joy to watch her spark children with smiles and giggles.

Arlene’s creativity and desire for fun included music and writing stories and poems for much of her life. She could make Teddy Bears dance to life with each fantastic adventure she shared. Always entertaini­ng friends and family Arlene won numerous awards

through Toast Masters with her witty and genuine presentati­ons. As a young girl in the church choir, she honed her lovely soprano voice and continued entertaini­ng and singing with Rose Bailey’s stage production­s in Rancho Bernardo well into her 60’s.

Arlene had enterprise in mind when in her late 30’s she learned to drive and took her first job with an answering service. Excelling so much over the phone, soon she had a business of her own. Once again, she was in a position to give of herself as a business women and employer.

Arlene experience­d a beautiful, spiritual journey in her life as a devoted disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda. For over 50 years she practiced meditation and studied his teachings to attain a life full of love, joy, and inner peace. She was a faithful member of Ananda for the past 20 years. Much of her life was always filled with laughter, singing, writing, and finding the beauty in each day.

She is preceded in death by her devoted friend and companion Elizabeth “Betty” Bulen. She is survived by her six children, Louise Adamsreite­r (Doug), Cathlene Young (Charles), Charles Webber, Mark Webber, Mike Webber (Pat), Christine Murdoch and her grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren.

We will be forever grateful for the loving care of Mom by all members of Truewood by Merrill Oceanside.

A celebratio­n of life is scheduled for Saturday June 4, 2022, 1:00 pm at the Carlsbad Senior Center, 799 Pine Avenue, Carlsbad, CA 82008. In lieu of flowers, we would suggest a donation to the Elizabeth Hospice. www. elizabethh­ospice.org
