CARLSBAD — Betty Lou Zink was born to Andrew “Earl” and Juanita Mae Zink in St Louis, MO. She attended nursing school at Evangelica­l Deaconess Hospital and met Roger Edwin Fox, MD. After their marriage on January 14, 1950, Roger served active duty in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Camp Pendleton. Betty was the office manager for Roger’s private family practice in So. Oceanside. When they retired after 55 years of Medicine, she and Roger went on a 2 year medical mission in Honduras. They traveled extensivel­y to 44 countries and all 7 continents. She enjoyed playing bridge and spent time serving the community through The Exchange Club, Interfaith Community Services, Fraternity House, PFLAG and Social Justice Commitment­s through their church, Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Carlsbad. In their later years they moved to Carlsbad to be closer to the church. She was the church historian for over 50 years and they both were some of the longest standing members for over 60 years. She is survived by 4 children, Richard Fox, Nancy Fox L’esperance, (Charles and Laurie Fox), and (Linda Fox and Emma Almendarez). 8 grandchild­ren, (Gino and Barbara Fox), (Sasha and Marcus Woods), (Ahren and Amanda Fox), (Brandon and Andrea Fox), Alisha Fox, (Charlemagn­e L’esperance and Casey Ward), Steven Fox, and Ethan Fox. 9 great grandchild­ren, Kyleigh Fox, Brody Fox, Maleah Fox, Justus Woods, Alivia Fox, Jorden Woods, Teagan Fox, Ethan Saldana, and Elton Saldana.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held June 5, 2022, at 2:00 PM with a reception following and an open Mic. at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 2020 Chestnut Ave, Carlsbad, CA 92008
