VISTA, CA —

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry Hensley. He was a loving husband to Sharon, and an amazing father to his two sons, Matthew and Christopher. Aside from being survived by his sons, he also leaves three grandchildren, Oliver, Gracie and Jess; daughters-in-law Desiree and Julia; his sister Patty; nieces Daniella and Kimmie; and nephews Brian and Rhoades.

Terry passed peacefully at home on May 23, 2022, and was surrounded by family. He was 79 years old.

Born in Artesia, California. Terry was a Southern Californian through and through. He grew up in La Mirada, CA, and attended Chadwick High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Whittier College. He married Sharon, the love of his life, and together they relocated to Vista, California.

Terry was an active member of his community, founding Alta Vista Property Management, where he and his family created Rancho Vista Mobile Home Estates, and was instrumental in helping build the Moonlight Amphitheatre. Terry was also very civic-minded as a member of the Vista Chamber of Commerce and served on the board for The Tri-city Hospital Foundation.

Terry enjoyed shooting shot guns and was a national juniors champion in his youth. He was a fly fisherman who loved camping in his retirement. By all accounts, he’s already up in heaven, fishing and catching his limit. Terry lived a rich, full life, touching the hearts of many. He will truly be missed as a loving generous spouse, father, grandfather, and friend.

Our family will host a gravesite memorial at Eternal Hills Mortuary in Oceanside at 10:00 am on August 26th, 2022.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Destiny Hospice, 1236 Perris Blvd
