LA JOLLA — Robert A. Nemiroff M.D., 85, of La Jolla, CA passed away in Grand Junction, CO on July 20th 2022.
Dr. Nemiroff was born in New York to George and Riva Nemiroff, where he grew up with his brother, Dr. Martin Nemiroff.
Dr. Nemiroff was a graduate of SUNY Upstate Medical University. He interned with the Veterans Affairs Connecticut Health Care Center and completed his Residency in Psychiatry at Yale - New Haven Hospital.

In 1970, he moved to La Jolla with his wife Barbara and their three daughters to start his career in Psychiatry.
Dr. Nemiroff was a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Residency Training Program at the University of California. He was one of the founding members of the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center. He was a Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst in the San Diego Psychoanalytic Institute. It has been said that he was involved in the training of most of the psychoanalysts trained by the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center over the past 49 years. He also had a private practice of psychiatry and psychoanalysis in
La Jolla. In addition to these accomplishments, he also co-authored and edited multiple books and publications.
Bob as he was known by his friends was a world traveler, a voracious reader and an avid sports fan. He was a genuinely kind and compassionate man. Being a dependable father was of the utmost importance to Bob, and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family.
He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 61 years, his daughters, Nancy Takahashi, Julie Nemiroff, LMHC, Susan Weber, DVM, and his son-in-law Kevin Weber.
Bob was dearly loved by all. His memory will live on with every person he touched throughout his remarkable life.
